Immersion Workshop 2.1: Intro to Coffee Brewing

Immersion Workshop 2.1: Introduction to Coffee Brewing

from $35.00

Saturday, March 22nd, 2025
9:30AM

This workshop will provide you with all three prerequisites to brew delicious, cafe- quality coffee at home. We will discuss how to interpret coffee labels and purchase a bag you’ll like before we demonstrate the impact of two factors you may not expect: your grinder and the water you brew with. Whether you plan to attend our Immersion Brewing workshop (below) or simply improve your current methodology, this class will provide essential knowledge about brewing.

The 2025 series of workshops, occurring in the winter through the spring, will consist of four classes in two sets. The first set will consist of formal coffee tastings (”cupping”) to provide an introduction to the fundamentals of appreciating coffee while the second set will consist of interactive workshops to demonstrate basic coffee brewing knowledge applied to make your morning cup even tastier.

Each workshop will last approximately an hour and a half. Each class can be taken on its own, apart from the others, but a more fulfilling and enriching experience can be attained by using each workshop as a building block.

*Please note that registering as a pair entails sharing coffee cupping portions

*Deadline for registration is two weeks in advance of the selected workshop

Immersion Workshop 1.2: Introduction to Coffee Varieties

from $40.00

Many popular coffee brands have led us to believe that coffee is a simple beverage with flavor that varies slightly depending on where it was grown. This cupping session will dispel this misconception by providing an introduction to the wide range of factors that influence the final taste of a particular coffee. You’ll taste a diverse range of coffees representing different regions, varietals, and processing methods, thereby scratching the surface of the many fascinating (and sometimes shocking) flavors afforded in different coffees.
