Primary Health Network Charitable Foundation Receives $5,000 Donation from UPMC Health Plan for EITC Program

Sharon, PA – PHN Charitable Foundation (PHNCF) has received a $5,000 donation from UPMC Health Plan to support its Pre-Kindergarten Educational Improvement Tax Credit (EITC) Program. The funds will be used to assist local students with tuition costs, directly addressing financial barriers to education in the communities served by PHN.

The EITC Program plays a critical role in ensuring that students from low-income families have access to quality early education, which is vital for their long-term academic success. By offering tuition assistance, the program helps bridge the gap for families who might otherwise be unable to afford preschool, setting a strong foundation for future learning. UPMC Health Plan’s contribution will provide much-needed support to students in need, ensuring they can pursue their educational goals without financial strain.

Cheryl Goldstone, Director of the Charitable Foundation, stated, “We appreciate UPMC Health Plan’s support in helping to reduce financial barriers for students and improve access to educational opportunities. This program is essential in ensuring that every child, regardless of their financial situation, has the opportunity to succeed from the start of their education.”

This donation reinforces the ongoing collaboration between UPMC Health Plan and PHNCF to address critical community needs and strengthen local educational outcomes.
