PHNCF’s Giving Tuesday Effort Raises $4,400 to Advance Literacy Programs for Local Children and Families
Sharon, PA – Primary Health Network Charitable Foundation (PHNCF) is pleased to announce the success of its Giving Tuesday campaign, which raised $4,400 to support literacy initiatives in the community. While Giving Tuesday was on December 3, 2024, the generosity of local partners and neighbors continues to have a lasting impact on children, families, and healthcare in our area. These funds will help drive key programs that foster literacy and education, providing essential tools for success in both school and life.
Thanks to the outpouring of support, PHNCF will continue to fund and expand programs that promote literacy, including:
· Phase 2 of the Sharon Medical Group Pediatric Office Waiting Area: The pediatric waiting area will be completely redesigned to provide an educational and engaging space that promotes learning while reducing anxiety. This transformation aims to support children’s development during their early years, creating a welcoming environment for families as they await appointments.
· Little Free Library Program: This initiative provides free books to children, encouraging a love for reading and making literature accessible to all.
· Reach Out & Read Program: Through this program, PHNCF distributes books to children during pediatric visits, encouraging early literacy and empowering kids for lifelong learning. Every child who visits a pediatrician leaves with a book in hand, helping to build a strong foundation for academic success.
· Healthcare Scholarships: PHNCF continues to invest in the future of healthcare by offering over $30,000 annually in scholarships to aspiring healthcare professionals, ensuring that our community has access to skilled professionals who can contribute to its well-being.
Cheryl Goldstone, Director of PHNCF, shared her excitement about the success of the campaign:
“We are incredibly grateful for the support we received on Giving Tuesday. The generosity of our community is truly inspiring and will have a profound impact on the lives of children and families. These funds will help us continue to provide critical programs that promote literacy, create engaging educational spaces, and invest in the future of healthcare. Together, we are helping to shape a brighter, healthier future for everyone in our community.”
This tremendous success highlights the power of community and the lasting impact of literacy. The contributions received will not only benefit children and families but will also create a stronger, more vibrant community for everyone to enjoy. PHNCF extends its heartfelt thanks to those who supported this initiative and looks forward to continuing to serve and strengthen the community.
