PA 250 Celebration Planning in the Works

Mercer County's planning for events celebrating America's 250th birthday (which will happen in 2026) has already started! Led by Commissioner Ann Coleman, a group of county-wide representatives have started to meet quarterly to prepare for a year's worth of events and celebrations marking this momentous anniversary.

In fact, things already kicked off last month! In June, Representative Parke Wentling and our Commissioners Dedicated the county's Liberty Tree as part of PA's 250 celebrations.

The 250 committee is working on a year's worth of programming including launching a podcast and YouTube channel full of interesting county history, a photo contest, tours, educational programming for students of all ages, museum events, concerts, and a grand fireworks and parade finale in July 2026.

The Greenville Area Chamber of Commerce is proud to represent Northern Mercer County in these efforts. Do you want to take part? Reach out to Ben Beck at bbeck@greenvillechamber-pa.com.
