The Greenville Area Chamber of Commerce is hiring an Executive Director. Our current director, Benjamin Beck, is taking a new opportunity at FHC, Inc. He will be available to assist with the transition and will be located right next door to the chamber office.

The key responsibility of the Executive Director is to be an engaged and forward-thinking representative and advocate for business owners and employers in the community, particularly Chamber members.
The Executive Director serves as the chief executive and administrative officer of the organization responsible for the general management and coordination of all organization activities and is responsible for implementing chamber policies, membership maintenance and continued growth.
Primary Responsibilities:
· Understand and implement the mission of the Chamber as a membership and community organization.
· Manage Chamber finances, assist with the preparation and adhere to the annual budget, and maintain all records required by law and Board policy. Responsible for all fund raising activities and member services. Responsible for creating revenue generating concepts.
· Be responsible to the Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, including providing management, input and guidance to the Board and its committees. Attends committee meetings, plans and arranges meetings, supervises the preparation of notices, reports and other needed material.
· Serve as the spokesperson and representative of the Chamber to the membership, community, governmental entities and officials, and other community organizations. This will be done through various media sources including, but limited to, newsletters, public speaking opportunities, public reports and forums, the Chamber website, and social media.
· Cultivate, recruit, and engage prospective and current Chamber members to sustain and grow the membership.
· Implement a range of service for the members that will meet their current needs as well as advance the community’s business objectives.
· Organize and implement programs, activities, and events that allow members to promote their businesses’ products, services, and employment opportunities to the community.
· Recruit and motivate volunteers from the membership to participate on various Chamber committees.
· Work in collaboration with agencies involved in area development, including Penn-Northwest, GAEDC, Greenville Reynolds Dev. Corp., Visit Mercer County PA, and the Town of Greenville.
· Hire, train, motivate and supervise Chamber office staff and/or interns.
Preferred Qualities:
· Engaging personality, business acumen, and strong community skills are essential.
· Develops and maintains working relationships with local elected officials from a non-partisan, business-centered mindset.
· Awareness of the community’s trends and challenges.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office and QuickBooks. Ability to learn new technology systems.
· Ability to create and implement engaging social media and marketing content to promote Chamber events, member news, and general brand of the Chamber.
Preferred Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s Degree preferred
· Business experience
· Experience in non-profit management or board service
· Must be able to work some evenings and weekends
